Weekend Afternoon At The Brooklyn Botanical Garden

Take the 2/3 subway line out to Brooklyn for an afternoon visit to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. Located next the the Brooklyn Museum, you can make this a two for one trip or just decide to focus on gardens.

The botanical garden is over 100 years old and the site encompasses 52 acres. A few of the highlights are a Japanese garden with Koi pond, rose garden and the famous cherry tree esplanade – and that is just a small sampling of all you can find on the grounds. If you happen to be in the city during the spring, you should definitely make a trip to the garden to see the cherry trees in full bloom.

A few others sites to take in are the Bonsai tree enclosure as well as the Steinhardt Conservatory which has plants representing three different climates zones; tropical, temperate and desert.

Adult entrance fees are $10.
