Morningside Heights

Do Peacocks Live in New York?

No, not at NBC Studios in midtown but rather Manhattan’s Morningside Heights at the Cathedral of Saint John The Divine.  The Cathedral, located on 113th and Amsterdam is one of my favorite places in the city.  Not only is the interior so vast one thinks he is in a cavern but there is also the most interesting (i.e not sure what it is) statue adjacent to the building and of course the peacock.  Actually make that two peacocks; one shimmering blue and green and one decked out all in white.

After you have fully explored the church, head out back and walk around the ample outdoor space which is always at a premium in Manhattan.
