Swiss Cities Immaculate might be the perfect way to describe cities in Switzerland. I was hard-pressed to find so much as a stray wrapper as I walked around and explored. Transportation within and between cities is also a thing of (Swiss) precision. The trains are on-time, run consistently […]
There are plenty of direct flights and deals from New York City area airports to Switzerland. With a flight time of just under 8 hours outbound, Switzerland should be a consideration for your next trip. On a recent adventure to the country, I was able to visit 4 […]
Germany’s Christmas Markets have been around for hundreds of years. During the month of December, you can travel to a number of cities in the country to experience this wonderful annual tradition . And the recipe for success is pretty simple: spicy mulled wines, meats grilled over an […]
For a number of years friends and family have told me I must go see the Christmas Markets in Germany. ‘Magical’ was the adjective most frequently used to describe the markets. ‘Special’ came in a close second, then ‘amazing’ and ‘phenomenal’ was never in short supply either. With these types of recommendations, how could I pass up the chance to book a flight and spend 5 days visiting 3 different markets in Germany?
A week exploring Scotland is just enough time to whet the appetite and make you want to go back again. I have included a sampling of pictures from a recent trip I took that will hopefully get you excited to plan a Scottish adventure. Food A main reason […]

Lyndhurst Mansion is around a 45 minutes train ride on Metro-North from Grand Central Station. Off-peak roundtrip train tickets will cost around $21. A quick taxi ride from the Tarrytown train station to the mansion entrance is $7. A one hour small group guided tour of the mansion is $18. While this day trip upstate will cost you around $50, I would recommend it for the architectural and New York history as well as just walking around the grounds and taking pictures.
Stunning seaside towns, incredible food and an all around relaxed atmosphere are just a few reasons to get your travel plans together for a trip to the Puglia region in southern Italy.

A fun weekend summer option from New York City is found in Niagara Falls, NY. A 6.5 hour drive from Manhattan or a quick and relatively cheap flight into Buffalo airport makes this a great way to spent 48 hours.
