There are a lot of long avenues in NYC. During the early hours on the weekend (around 7am) you can find these avenues relatively free of traffic and that makes for a good photo opportunity. Note, don’t just stand in the middle of the street but if you happen to be crossing go ahead and snap a few pics as you are walking.
I like West End Avenue and Riverside Drive in the 90’s on the Upper West Side for these types of photos. You can get a long view down West End and Riverside has some buildings with a a slight curve that are very photogenic.
