Artist KMC Burning Up the Music Scene

By Nick Christophers

From his humble beginnings in Trinidad to building success in the states, KMC has not lost his focus or touch. As a boy in his native land he always was drawn to the sights and sounds of music. From the soca sound to dancehall he dabbled in both popular styles of his country. But he realized he needed to branch out and share his music and image with the world.

Ken Marlon Charles, KMC, first made a name for himself in Trinidad and other Caribbean islands. He established himself as a soca artist with hits like “Kaya”, “Bashment to Carnival” and “Soca Bashment”.  Besides being an artist he also went on to produce others work like  Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, Maximus Dan and Destra Garcia. He formed a band in 2005 called “Red White & Black” which became a household name. But KMC was looking beyond the borders of Trinidad and was determined to make his name known around the globe.

He managed to perform in Europe many times and developed a following in countries like Holland and England. KMC would release the track “Soul On Fire” which would open the door to Sequence Records. The single made it to Billboards Top 200 and big accomplishment for an overseas talent.

KMC’s success would take on another level when he paired up with legendary producer RedOne. He would end up releasing his first pop single with him titled “Everybody Jump”. This is when his European tour came to reality.

He soon would embark onto new territory in the United States and linked up with a new management company, Triple SSS Entertainment, LLC. Along with the new management he put out a new track entitled “Club On Fire,” a snappy dance pop track. He was determined to flow with the times and put a twist on his musical style. The promo video premiered at Manhattan’s ritzy Hudson Terrace to a packed audience.

KMC recently returned from the annual Miami Music Conference where he performed and did some radio promos. Also on the table is a “Club On Fire” radio tour in the Tri-State area and New England. To add to the excitement his video is due to premier on select major TV networks.

KMC is an artist on fire and is looking to burn up every venue he visits. Be on the lookout for this musical sensation.
