A fifth year now the Harlem Arts Festival has come to Marcus Garvey park in Central Park. And another year it has been a shining example of the local arts scene and a fantastic community event.
The festival brought together over 43 musicians, dancers, singers and entertainers over the 2 day event. Also represented in the park were over 30 local businesses, artists and restaurants.
In addition to showcasing the best of Harlem, this is a family oriented event and perfect to spend an afternoon with your kids, parents and relatives.
If you were able to attend, be sure to head back to Harlem and stop by the many local galleries and music venues. During the day a few of my favorite galleries are Long Gallery, Ilon Art Gallery (located in an great Brownstone.) At night (on Friday and Saturday only) get your tickets to live jazz at Bill’s Place on 135th street.
