Full Access NYC

Borough by borough, day after day, seeking the little details that make NYC great.

Levain Bakery – A Cookie Above the Rest

Imagine you find yourself wandering around Manhattan’s Upper West Side.  You are about to pass 74th street on Amsterdam Avenue and the  smell of freshly baked cookies permeates the air.  You are instantly taken back to childhood, eagerly awaiting for your Mom to pull a baking sheet of chocolate chip cookies from the oven.  A smile spreads across your face.

Home Sweet Home – Lower East Side (131 Chrystie St)

Sometimes, I feel like Rihanna.  Not because I’m a worldwide musical success, but because there are nights when “I just wanna dance – I don’t really care.” This need for carefree gyration is fed by a fantastic little cubby hole of a bar deep in the lower east side where the streets seem to have forgotten how to make a sensible grid.

Springtime in The City

Cherry Blossoms

Spring came early to New York this year.  Tulips and daffodils are popping up all over the city and people are shedding their coats to try and get a little color on their pasty winter skin.  The average New Yorker is in such a good mood they are willing to forgo such egregious missteps as walking slowly on the side walk or bumping into someone because you were busy taking pictures of a reflection on a tall glass building.   Miscues such as those will normally get you told off but not for these first few weeks in March.

If you find yourself in town I would recommend a few places to visit.

1.  The Brooklyn Botanical Garden.  Not
