By Seth Fera-Schanes There are a lot of long avenues in NYC. During the early hours on the weekend (around 7am) you can find these avenues relatively free of traffic and that makes for a good photo opportunity. Note, don’t just stand in the middle of the street […]
By Seth Fera-Schanes This is the second set of a two part photo gallery. If you are in the city and in Central Park, I highly recommend visiting Jackie Kennedy Onassis Reservoir to take some pictures.
By Seth Fera-Schanes A few pictures from a cool weather walk around Central Park and Riverside Park on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. This is the first part of a two part picture gallery. I like to walk along the Hudson off of Riverside Park and check […]
By Seth Fera-Schanes A few pictures from Central Park after the Friday snow storm. When it snows in the city, you want to take advantage of all the outdoor activities as soon as possible because with the amount of people rushing to join you, clean up crews and […]
By Seth Fera-Schanes Commonly referred to as “DUMBO,” this former manufacturing area of Brooklyn has been on the rise for the past few years. Home to some cool tech companies (i.e Etsy) as well as a few iconic restaurants (e.g Grimaldi’s Pizza) this part of town should make […]
Local artists have been finding space all around Williamsburg to add their artwork. There are some great pieces in the neighborhood and I would highly recommend spending a few hours walking around and taking some pictures. If you are coming in from Manhattan, just ride the L train and get off on the Bedford stop in Brooklyn. You can find some of the art on North 14th street and Wythe Avenue (or in the general area.)
Political statements, humor, The KFC Colonel are all part of the experience as you walk around certain areas of Williamsburg, Brooklyn and take in the work from local artists. These pieces adorn the sides of vacant warehouses, fences and any other stationary objects in sight. It is worth getting a group of friends together to spend some time in the neighborhood and get some pictures to share with non New Yorkers (or your instagram account.)
If you live in the city and have a weekday off, or just want to skip work for the day then head over to Williamsburg for some great street art photos. Just walk a few blocks away from the main retail area of Bedford avenue and you will see that local artists have been adding murals and characters to the sides of warehouses in the neighborhood. The artwork is really well done and would be great to add to your portfolio.
