Meatballs Meatballs Everywhere

I usually don’t order meatballs in restaurants because they will never compare to the ones my grandmother makes. I figure it is a foregone conclusion and therefore save myself the money.

With that in mind, I have recently found myself in a quandary. Manhattan has meatball places popping up all around the city. Now I have to find a compromise between purchasing a non-grandma made meatball with my love of trying new specialty shops.

This past Saturday I was walking and came across Meatball Obsession on 14th St. and 6th Ave. I peered behind the counter and saw pots simmering away with delicious smelling meatballs. The options included beef, turkey, pork or chicken. I couldn’t resist and ordered a beef meatball (in a cup) with sauce and Parmesan cheese.

Before I took that first bite, I just knew it was going to be good. And it was. Like really good. The meatball was cooked to perfection and my tipping the cup back in the middle of the street to make sure I got every last drop of sauce confirmed to the world Meatball Obsession is the real deal.

For the record, no meatball will compare to Grandma Toni’s meatballs. However, now I might be a little more open to trying a few new options.

Meatball Obsession is located at 510 6th Ave at 14th Street
