Colombian Native Establishes Top Notch Spa For Men And Women

By Nick Christophers

After arriving from the scenic country of Colombia, owner and founder of Mayo Spa, Marjorie took on the task of opening the one-stop shop Spa for anyone looking to improve their wellness. In her home country she worked as a nurse and utilized her training to enhance her new business venture, Mayo Spa. The Spa located in the busy town of Freeport was ideal for her since it had a predominantly Latin community.

“My interest in the aesthetics industry began after I moved to the United States. In my home country, I worked as a nurse, but as an immigrant I realized that one of the best opportunities to continue using my healthcare background was in the beauty and wellness field. I saw the opportunity to combine my nursing knowledge with aesthetic treatments to help people not only improve their appearance but also feel more confident and comfortable in their own skin. I began my formal training in 2019, and I continue to expand my education through ongoing training to provide my clients with the latest, safest, and most effective treatments.”

Her spa offers various services that help in sustaining one’s look and body. Two of her more popular treatments are facials and laser hair removal. The facial treatments (yours truly partook in it for the first time and it was refreshing) improve skin health, hydration, and overall appearance. While the hair removal process has become a favorite because it offers a long-term solution for unwanted hair.

Most people would assume that women only use spa’s but that is not entirely true. At Marjorie’s spa 20% of her clients are male. More men are investing in skincare, laser hair removal, and aesthetic treatments to look and feel their best. So far, she has been serving the Freeport community for six years and looks to build on that success.

“During that time, we have been committed to providing personalized aesthetic treatments in a welcoming and professional environment, helping our clients look and feel their best while building lasting relationships within the community.”

There are two other treatments that are more detailed like the Venus Legacy and Cosmelan. The Venus Legacy is a is a non-invasive treatment that combines multipolar radiofrequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields to stimulate collagen and elastin production. It helps improve skin firmness, reduce the appearance of cellulite, tighten loose skin, and contour both the face and body. While the Cosmelan is one of the most recognized professional depigmentation treatments available. It is designed to reduce hyperpigmentation, melasma, sunspots, post-acne discoloration, and uneven skin tone. In addition to improving skin clarity, it enhances overall skin texture and leaves the complexion looking brighter and healthier. Both are suited for men and women.

The spa is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 am – 6 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am – 2 pm. At this point of her career Marjorie – “is looking to continue growing professionally and staying up to date with the latest training, technologies, and innovations in aesthetic medicine. I am committed to continuously expanding the services we offer while providing the highest quality care, personalized treatments, and exceptional results for every client. My vision is to continue serving the Freeport community while helping even more people achieve healthier skin and greater confidence.
