12 Pictures That Will Make You Book a Trip to the Himalayas in Nepal
Hundreds of pictures would never do a 3 week trip in October hiking through the Himalayas justice. But just a few shots should be enough to encourage you to book that flight!

Ever since I was little I had issues with balance – walking into glass doors, walking into people, backing up into poles (on my driving test nonetheless) and the list goes on. All of this to illustrate what a major klutz I am and how often my sight and balance have failed me. Perhaps that is a part of the reason I started hiking a few years back; I needed to prove to myself that I could walk on any terrain without falling or bumping into objects.
Fall is the perfect time for a Metro North train ride up into the Hudson Valley and worth spending a full weekend day outside the city. With apps like All Trails you can get information on a number of hikes to easily plan your trip in advance.
Spoiled for choice is the best way to describe Annecy in the Savoy region of France. A year-round travel destination with unlimited activities ranging from swimming and hiking to cross country and downhill skiing (and everything in-between.)
I went at the start of summer and spent 5 days taking in as many outdoor activities as possible.
Wanting to escape city living, at least for a couple hours on the weekend can be pretty straightforward in New York.
Case in point, Croton Gorge Park is 40 miles north of Manhattan (if you have a car) or you can take the Metro North Train to the Croton on Hudson stop. Note: if you take the train you will then need to take a car service for the remaining 2.5 miles to the park (and remember this because I will revisit it later.)
Little River, a small village conveniently placed at the foot of the Banks Peninsula and a gateway to Christchurch’s more outdoorsy relative. In Latin, peninsula literally translates to almost (pen) an island (insula), i.e. A very accessible destination with all of the frills one expects of a typical island such as postcard views and an abundance of food from the sea. Last week, I took a trip to Little River to experience a break from technology, a spot of relaxation and a chance to explore a place I have spent many a childhood jaunt, but from a different perspective. One of my favourite past-times is pretending I am a tourist in my own hometown; you can travel the world, but sometimes it’s your backyard that was stunning all along. Go check it out!
Don’t get me wrong, Christchurch is a brilliant city, but sometimes even the city gets a bit overwhelming. The beauty of the Garden City is that it is super close to nature and fresh mountain air. Yesterday, two buddies & I adventured towards the Mountains and made a day of it.
In the city that never sleeps, there is a 200 acres oasis that sits right at the top of Manhattan: Inwood Hill Park.
Cold Spring is a town of about 2,000 located right on the Hudson River and a 70 minute train ride from Manhattan. It is no secret to people in the Hudson Valley and NYC but if you haven’t made the time to visit, be sure to schedule a 3/4 day visit in the immediate future.
Home to a well-known botanical garden, a zoo, and the Yankees Stadium, the Bronx also houses a long list of attractions that remain unexplored by the majority of New Yorkers who don’t think to go a little farther north of Manhattan for art, culture, and dining.
