Throughout the year an individual can pick up flowers and small apartment plants at their local bodegas (corner all purpose stores.) The flower varieties change throughout the year but typically the quality is good and the prices are right.
One can also head over to the Chelsea flower markets. These shops are where the city’s florists shop, arriving around 5am. However, the shops remain open after and you can find some great plants in this area. Many of the stores are located on 28th street between 6th and 7th avenues.
During the spring there is an abundance of flowers at farmer’s markets around the city. These are trucked in by local farmers and have a great selection and are worth picking up a few bunches.
