Manhattan

Photography Tour: Whitney Museum of American Art

By Seth Fera-Schanes

After spending the past 48 years on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the Whitney Museum made a move downtown to hang with the cool crowd in the Meatpacking District.  With new clothes (i.e new building) and new address overlooking the Hudson River, the Whitney wants to impress you and is doing quite a fine job so far.  I made my way over to the museum for a photo tour to peak your interest and definitely recommend carving out some time to spend 1-2 hours exploring the new space.

After your visit you can grab a drink at the beer garden in the Standard Hotel, walk the Highline, board the Frying Pan (in warm months only) or head a little further south to check out Le District.
