Bo’s Bagels has opened a retail location on 116th between Adam Clayton and Frederick Douglas Blvd. Â The store is easily accessible from both the 2/3 and B/C trains at the 116th street stop so be sure to check this place out. Â
The full bagel making process is on display at Bo’s.
- Â There is a large kettle of water right behind the counter, in plain sight of everyone in the store. Â Bagels are boiled and go through their preparation right as patrons are placing their orders.
- Â A large industrial oven is next to the kettle. Â You see the wet bagels get their toppings on a soaked wood board which is then slid into the oven to bake.
- Â Bagels are then put into baskets and ready for their final prep work with a schmear of any number of your favorite spreads.Â

The bagel I got was still warm right from the oven! Â If you live in the neighborhood, be sure to stop by or hop on the train for a real New York treat baked fresh in Harlem.
