Eclectic Singer and Songwriter Bria Lee Expanding Her Image

By Nick Christophers

Bria Lee is what you would call an untapped source of talent. Her superb vocal range and expertise on the piano is something to behold. Only recently she graced the stage at the famous Knitting Factory where she offered the packed club a taste of her skills. The daring soul that she is, she left the stony state of Rhode Island for the concrete jungle of Manhattan.

She has managed to “make her bones” and break the thick walls of the city. Of course she had to bust her butt working odd jobs to support her musical journey. Let’s not leave out the fact that her parents had a lot to do with her desire to perform on stage. Her mother was a singer and played guitar and her father was always a lover of music. She would end up being signed to the label Republic Records where she worked on tracks with the likes of Pit Bull and Fat Joe.

“I’m very blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such prestigious artists so early in my career. They’re both incredibly talented people as well as kind. I enjoyed the experience a lot. Doing the music video for my song “One Shot” with Fat Joe has been one of the most surreal moments of my career so far. He was awesome. “

Bria completed course work at New York’s Manhattan School of Music there she studied classical piano. She took her talent as a pianist and singer and broke into the NYC jazz scene. This was just her first step into what would become something bigger.  During her music journey tragic struck with the loss of one of her strongest supporters, her father. At that time she did not have the desire to return to music. But she soon realized that I her father would have wanted her never to leave it behind. She came back stronger than ever.

She has been compared to such acts like Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse with her sultry and seductive voice. Her skills on the piano are something to see.  Bria not only plays the piano but also the ukulele.  Multi-talented is putting lightly when it comes to experiencing her on stage.  So far the has released tracks like “One Shot” w / Fat Joe which was remixed by Pit Bull, “Purple Clouds” and “Piece By Piece”.

She is planning on releasing a new EP entitled “Little Room” this coming September. It will feature seven new tracks.

Her talent has enabled her to solidify a residency at the famous Bitter End (next show on September 12th).  Let’s not leave out that she also performed the national anthem at a NY Jets / New England Patriots game at MetLife Stadium to a mesmerized sold out audience.  Bria Lee has managed a lot in the short time she has been in the music game but all we see nothing but opportunity.
