Jackalope Brewing Company

There’s no stopping the craft beer craze that has sprung up these past couple of years, but then, why would you want to? Nashville has over fifteen small breweries that provide the area with a broad selection of beer options. Yazoo, Black Abbey, and Jackalope are just a few of the widely known breweries that can be spotted at one of the twelve beer festivals scheduled for 2016. In Nashville, we listen to more than country music, and we drink more than Bud Light.

Late Night Jazz in Harlem

Late night music in a small venue has always appealed to me.  The intimate atmosphere and energy that moves through the crowd when a solo artist or group is deep into their set is electrifying.  This led me to look for music spots around the city and one I had long heard about was Bill’s Place on 133rd street in Harlem.  When I had family come into town one weekend I made my move and got us tickets.

Who Wants to Buy an Expensive Pumpkin?

It is October and pumpkins are in every grocery store, bodega and farmer’s market ranging from  $20 to $100 (you can find some cheaper options so don’t totally freak out.)  These are not the prices that I remember from my childhood but tis the season and I want to make a jack-o-lantern so what am I to do?
