Declassified Memory Fragments at Harlem Stage

“Olivier’s work was very honest and very human,” Simpson said. “It wasn’t so much like I was watching technique or virtuosic performance but I was actually involved in it, kind of like watching a film.”

David Steffan: Urban Performer Inspires Others

“I use those medals as examples that anything is possible it’s a great achievement as I’m one of Nebraska’s most decorated special Olympians. But it’s also to show that whatever you dream about and work hard at it you can achieve anything. That’s something I push to do whether I’m on the field or with my music.”

Mckeesport Little Theater: Bloody Hell

Pittsburgh, a night at the theater, and the genius of the playwright are not a group of words we would often fit together.  Perhaps, however, a few of us walk to the beat of a different drummer and we know how synonymous these words actually are.  In fact, on any given weekend evening all across the city there are small theaters filled with devoted  and talented actors performing the works of Playwrights from all over.  So many of us would be surprised by the level of talent our city commands.  I spent a large portion of 2015 attending show after show as I had been tasked with reviewing a great many of said shows.  Of all of the plays I had seen one troupe of actors and a particular playwright stood out as something spectacular.  I recently had the chance to see these artists once more as they brought their talents yet again to the stage as they performed an original play created by one of Pittsburgh’s soon to be favorite sons, James Michael Shoberg.

Popular Television and Movie Locations in Atlanta

The greatest cinematic-like TV achievement is “The Walking Dead”. The show that has all of America on it’s toes and viewers biting their fingernails.  Who knew the suspense and intensity of being hunted by zombies would be so mind-boggling to watch and have its fans preparing for a catastrophic doomsday. The best part about the show is that it was filmed in mega city Atlanta! “The Walking Dead” isn’t the only cool thing that was filmed in the city. Take a look at all the television and motion pictures that were filmed in the Atlanta region.

Tennessee Performing Arts Center

One of my favorite parts of living in Music City is its proximity to exceptional performance spaces and as a result, access to incredible performers. For most people familiar with Nashville, this typically means events at Ryman Auditorium or Bridgestone Arena, not to mention the many music venues throughout the city. However, I feel equally lucky that Nashville is home to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) and the theatrical performances it hosts.

Michael McGovern in Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh, a city at once enigmatic, bold, beautiful and filled with promise.  So many of her sons and daughters have gone on to achieve fame and fortune.  Her children have had tremendous impact upon American culture.  Many of these stories we know, and still others have yet to be written, and still more have yet to unfold.  That being said, I wanted to introduce many of you to the unfolding tale of the local talent, Michael McGovern.
