Summer Restaurant Week at Aureole

Restaurant week is an opportunity to sample new cuisines, broaden culinary palates or simply get into higher end restaurants without breaking the bank.

I visited Aureole in midtown Manhattan for a weekday lunch.  The restaurant wasn’t too crowded but it’s always good to make reservations in advance.  A new element to restaurant week is the ability to have a meal with or without dessert (difference in price is $26 vs. $32 for lunch.)

Are Lime Bikes Available in New York City?

Lime Bikes, the dockless bike-sharing company has not yet made its way into New York City.  Lime is among a number of start-ups all vying to get into the city.  Current options in the city remain docked Citi bikes and bike rentals around NYC.  However, I am excited for the future prospect of the on-demand model as well as a mixture of pedal and electric scooters and bikes.

Distance Workout in the Bronx and Westchester County

The former New York and Putnam railroad has been reborn into a nicely paved pathway that is ideal for distance workouts.  I use the trail for bike rides but LSD (long slow distance) day runs would also work.

I split the workout into 3 segments (with one additional option to get home.)

One beekeeper told me the hive they were harvesting from would yield about 40 pounds of honey!  And that is after leaving more than half of the honey in the hives for the bees to and continue to add to for their winter stores.

Antigone in Harlem

CTH’s offering of ANTIGONE is inspired by the Paul Roche adaptation which accomplishes a fidelity to the original while giving CTH the flexibility to showcase ancient ideas that have taken center stage in the current climate: order, law, justice and marginalized voices confronting power and patriarchy.
