So They Say It’s Cold Outside

By: Seth Fera-Schanes First week into February and I am officially admitting winter has gotten to me.  There has been a recent spat of polar vortex’s, snow, rain, ice and general grayness moving through the city.  I actually learned an interesting new winter recipe this week: One part […]

Niagara Falls During The Winter

Full Access NYC, why are you referencing Western New York in your title?  First, I probably shouldn’t be questioning myself to set up some type of engaging response.  Second, I was actually in Niagara Falls and Buffalo this past weekend and got some nice pictures.  Lastly, there are three major airports in the tri-state area and one can take advantage of all the potential travel opportunities these offer.

New York City is one exciting, hectic, almost perpetual motion machine but this comes with a drawback.  It becomes a sensory overload and sometimes you need to step outside of the city to decompress or just see some trees (or in my case a giant waterfall.)

JFK Airport in the Snow

Winter has definitely picked up the pace and today another layer of snow blanketed the city.  I was out at JFK airport this morning and took a few pictures of the planes getting deiced on the tarmac and the surrounding neighborhood.  I have mentioned this before but when it snows in the city you have to jump on the opportunity to take some pics before everything turns into one big grey soupy mess.  The remaining pictures are of Queens and the neighborhoods close to JFK.  Enjoy.

Super Bowl 48 Activities in Times Square

Super Bowl Boulevard took over Times Square in advance of Super Bowl 48 this week.  I posted a few picture galleries of some of the performances earlier in the week.

In addition to singing and dancing there were a lot of other activities and sights to see such as seeing the Vince Lombardi trophy on display or a British Marching band just cruising down the street.

Empire State Building in Super Bowl Colors

By Seth Fera-Schanes The Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks are getting ready for Super Bowl 48 and the Empire State is showing some team pride (albeit not really knowing which team it supports.) The Empire State building can display a range of colors and depending on the time […]

Rock of Ages Super Bowl Boulevard Performance in Times Square

By Seth Fera-Schanes I Wanna Rock, Here I Go Again, Don’t Stop Believing…. the Broadway musical Rock of Ages has it all.  And they just brought the house down in the middle of Times Square. I said it once and I’ll say it again, the NFL has committed […]

Dancing Rockettes and Singing Jersey Boys Perform in Times Square

The NFL isn’t holding back as Super Bowl Boulevard officially opened today with some great performances and activities. I was fortunate enough to catch the dress rehearsal of the Boys Choir of Harlem, Jersey Boys and Rockettes in the morning and then the main performance on 43rd street […]

Karaoke in Korean Town

By Seth Fera-Schanes “Give me the microphone first so I can bust like a bubble, Compton Manhattan and Long Beach Korean Town together now you know you in trouble.” My apologies to Snoop but I couldn’t help myself. If you have lived in New York City for any […]

January in Clinton Hill

By contributing illustrator Julia Cagninelli.  You can check out more of her great work here. The residents of New York City purchase, decorate, love and then ultimately discard a lot of Christmas trees each year.  If you live in the city or have spent any time here in […]
