By Melissa Limberg The best thing about living in New York City is everything. Its knowing when you walk down the street that you tread on sidewalks that shaped a nation. Its looking around and knowing that everyone here has their own dream that fuels the fire. Its […]
Imagine you find yourself wandering around Manhattan’s Upper West Side. You are about to pass 74th street on Amsterdam Avenue and the smell of freshly baked cookies permeates the air. You are instantly taken back to childhood, eagerly awaiting for your Mom to pull a baking sheet of chocolate chip cookies from the oven. A smile spreads across your face.
By Melissa Limberg When I have the opportunity to go to one of the most exclusive and talked about new restaurants in Manhattan – of course I’m going to go. I didn’t know much about Catch other than if it was good enough for Carmelo Anthony, it was […]
Sometimes, I feel like Rihanna. Not because I’m a worldwide musical success, but because there are nights when “I just wanna dance – I don’t really care.” This need for carefree gyration is fed by a fantastic little cubby hole of a bar deep in the lower east side where the streets seem to have forgotten how to make a sensible grid.
Photographing the city is a favorite hobby of many New York City residents. Lazy Saturdays and Sundays are perfect for putting your walking shoes on, packing your camera and taking a photo tour around the city. With smart phones and instagram you don’t even need to carry a DSLR around and can get instant feedback on your pics as you post to social networks (#nofilter, #realtime, #pleasepleaselikeme and all that.)

By Seth Fera-Schanes A semi-secret around NYC, known mostly to the Upper West Side crowd, the Hudson Beach Cafe is one of my favorite spots in New York. Situated outdoors in Riverside Park, visitors are treated to a panoramic view of the Hudson River on one side and […]
By Michael Ibrahim There are many great beer bars in The City and some of my favorite happen to be Belgian. There are spots all over the city that serve Belgian beers. My favorite Belgian beer night is def a tour of the East Village which I always do in the following […]
No, not at NBC Studios in midtown but rather Manhattan’s Morningside Heights at the Cathedral of Saint John The Divine. The Cathedral, located on 113th and Amsterdam is one of my favorite places in the city. Not only is the interior so vast one thinks he is in a cavern but there is also the most interesting (i.e not sure what it is) statue adjacent to the building and of course the peacock. Actually make that two peacocks; one shimmering blue and green and one decked out all in white.
